USB C empowers Philips 223S9A and S9 line monitors with simplified connections

The 223S9A monitor from Philips utilizes USB-C docking to replace cable clutter, making it suitable for a range of users and scenarios, including homeworking, hot-desking and community settings. Fundamentally, simplifying connections with a single, slim, reversible USB type-C connector with up to 65W power delivery, the 223S9A and other members of the S9 line of monitors, including the 243S9A and 276S9A, take full advantage of a powerful, reversible single-cable solution.

Benefits of this single-cable solution include simultaneous access to super-speed data transfer, intelligent and flexible power management, including the direct ability to charge many compatible devices, and ability to watch high resolution video.

Designed for flexibility and accessibility, the 223S9A utilizes the powerful single USB-C cable solution to allow input from a mobile device, phone or notebook, plus the re-charging of the attached device, over a single cable. Portability is an added benefit.

A USB-C monitor with USB Hub extension, like the 223S9A, removes numerous cords from a desk. Powerfully, instead of connecting peripherals to a PC, users can simply connect them to the monitor, which then connects to a PC over USB-C.

Featuring 16:9 Full HD 1920 x 1080 @ 75Hz resolution, the three-sided borderless 223S9A stands out for having an IPS LED panel with extra-wide viewing angles of 178/178 degrees, and crisp images with vivid colors. This makes it ideal for viewing and working on photos, viewing movies and web browsing.

The 223S9A is further supported by Philips’ exclusive leading-edge SmartImage technology, which analyzes screen content to give optimized display performance. Via a user-friendly interface that allows selection of Office, Photo, Movie, Game or Economy mode, depending on the content or application, SmartImage dynamically optimizes the contrast, color saturation and sharpness of images and videos.

Flicker-free technology is integrated into the 223S9A and other S9 line models, providing regulated brightness and reduced flicker, for more comfortable and safe viewing. This is complemented by LowBlue Mode, which uses smart software technology to reduce harmful shortwave blue light, and EasyRead mode for a paper-like reading experience.

Connectivity plays a prominent part in the 223S9A, including one USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 upstream, three USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 downstream options, plus DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, HDCP 1.4 and audio out options.

Balancing key attributes and features, the 223S9A monitor has been carefully developed with affordability in mind, while at the same time providing an attractive array of important features. Together with its sister 243S9A and 276S9A models, the S9 line of Philips monitors make an ideal entry-level option for users looking for a cost-effective monitor choice that doesn’t compromise on cutting-edge features.

Additional specifications include 4ms typical response times, 250cd/m2 brightness, inbuilt dual 2W speakers, 100 x 100mm VESA mount, -5 to 25 degrees tilt, and 21.5” (54.6cm) panel size.

Philips monitors feature innovative, ecologically-friendly technologies for a greener tomorrow. Energy efficiency, fully recyclable packaging, compliance with strict international environmental standards, and freedom from harmful substances such as mercury and PVC/BFR are some of the features to help building a brighter future for all.
