Improving lives with green healthcare
Philips is supporting Rijnstate Hospital in the Netherlands with a green healthcare program. Philips has helped Rijnstate save about 64,000 kWh of electricity annually by powering imaging systems off after hours.
Becoming carbon-neutral by 2020
To combat unavoidable carbon emissions, we compensated 330 kilotonnes of carbon emissions with 9 million medium-sized oak trees in 2018.
Our heritage in sustainability stretches back to our founders. Carried through from 129 years until now, Philips has committed to develop and grow in the sustainable fields. We believe in the importance of schools, sports clubs and training for the employees' well-being and the environment they live in. We fostered environmental sustainability in the 1970s by meticulously examining ways to improve our operations, products, and supply chains. Since 1994, the EcoVision has taken a sustainable approach. And now, we step further to integrate sustainability into our 4-core strateg.
Sustainable use of materials
By 2020, we aim to generate 15% sales from circular products and services, recycle 90% operational waste with no waste sent to landfill, increase the availability on medical systems equipment, and increase green revenues to 70%.
